About Karnal city
About Location: Karnal is important city on Delhi Ambala rail line and Shershah Suri Marg (Grand Trunk Road), National Highway NH-44 (old NH-1) connected with all important places in the country, it is approximately 123 Kilometers from Delhi (national capital) and is 130 kilometers from Chandigarh (state capital). Karnal district lies on the western bank of river Yamuna. The river Yamuna separates Karnal from the neighboring state Uttar Pradesh. Karnal districted is surrounded by Kurukshetra on its north-west, Jind and Kaital on its west, Panipat on its south and Uttar Pradesh state on its east.
The city is located in such a geographical area which is known to be the best area of Haryana state in terms of resources availability, so this city is having all major companies head offices for Haryana state and is having big brand showrooms and service centers as well. Karnal is being developed as a modern smart city by the state government as it is also listed as one of the Smart City in Haryana state. All areas inside the city are being renovated with the help of latest technology to make it a modern smart city.
Modern Karnal: Karnal has also been developed as branded residential area as it is near to Delhi and many big brand builders and developers has developed the residential colonies having luxury apartments here like CHD Developers, Narsi Village, Palm residency, Alfa International City, Aegis Gold Floors, Sahara and Ansal Royal etc.
Now a days Karnal is famous for agricultural implements, National Dairy Research Institute (NDRI), ICAR , CSSRI, National Bureau of Animal Genetic Resources (NBAGR), SUGARCANE BREEDING INSTITUTE, wheat research center and many other Govt. institutes. It has been selected to be developed as Smart City in Haryana by Indian Government and the renovation work is still in progress to reach the goal of smart city. Kalpana Chawla Government Medical College is also one of the main landmarks in Karnal which has been opened in recent years in the memory of Kalpana Chawla the great Indian Astronomer.

How to Reach Karnal: One can reach Karnal by by air, by rail and by road using on vehicle or bus. The nearest airport is Indira Gandhi International airport New Delhi which is approximately 140 kilometers far and Chandigarh airport which is around 135 kilometers from Karnal. The train and bus service is also available in regular intervals with high frequency. One can get the trains and buses whole night also. The buses can be taken from Bye-Pass road during night.
